[ Abstract ]
The public transport network in the city of Barcelona had been
structured for decades without planning by public institutions.
The municipal authorities during the Second Republic took the
initiative and created a plan with the aim of decongesting the
busiest areas and making public transport reach the most extreme
neighbourhoods.
However, the bus line plan found a path full of difficulties,
with different tenders, tensions in the municipal plenary
sessions, delays in the terms and even with the intervention of
justice.
