This insurance company had the strategic decision to innovate in
technology with the purpose to increasing productivity. The
investments were high at the start, because they were

development of software programs for the company. In the
sixties, it was much weaker the insurance sector than the
banking sector; in comparative terms meant a greater effort to
adapt to new technologies. MAPFRE chose to advance in the
technical progress, to be more competitive with great success in
the motor insurance industry. In the second half of the eighties
innovation of personal computers networked it occurs with higher
technological options than in the sixties. In addition, the
expansion is highlighted in using software for all business
activity, to the extent that shapes overall management. Finally,
the information is from the internal documents of the company.
